The Iowa 1:1 Institute exists to:
  • Help the Midwest’s 1:1 districts learn from each other about innovative teaching, learning, and administrative practices that are occurring in their districts;
  • Build excitement and ‘buzz’ around 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in the Midwest; and
  • Help others who are interested in 1:1 computing learn more about how to get started and be successful.
The institute is open to anyone interested in 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in P-12 schools, whether they currently are working in such a program or just want to learn more.

Personalized Learning with Digital Citizenship

Difficulty finding places in the schedule for digital citizenship instruction? Or needing to integrate it in an innovative way?

The AEA K-12 Online Personalized Learning System offers a way to deliver digital citizenship instruction inside or outside of the face-to-face classroom. It works well for whole-group as well as self-paced instruction. Plus the system allows you to select a wide range of content via keyword, grade-level, or Iowa Core essential skill and concept search. As a teacher, you can grab the learning modules that work best for your students and place them into a learning opportunity.

This session will highlight the system as well as the piloting schools currently using the system. Participants will have access to the system by the end of the presentation, and be eligible to take part in the summer cohort to prepare to implement the system into their curriculum.
